December 8th, 2015 marked 35 years since John Lennon was shot to death in Manhattan. The former Beatle was returning home to the Dakota apartment building on the Upper West Side, when he was shot. John was 40 years old. Fans immediately swarmed the Dakota to mourn his death. Many still mark the day by visiting the building and Strawberry Fields in Central Park. His killer, Mark David Chapman, pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison and has been denied parole seven times, most recently in August this year. We celebrate the life of John by supporting ending hunger in Florida by purchasing the 'Imagine' specialty license plate.
Each year, the Feeding Florida network provides food to the 3.3 million Floridians facing hunger, including 1.1 million children and 700,000 seniors. Feeding Florida is a unified voice regarding hunger and food insecurity by focusing on each community’s needs.
