The annual use fee set by statute for each specialty license plate ranges from $15 to $25. This is the amount the charity/state agency responsible for the particular specialty plate receives when you pay for your tag each year. The additional costs are all state, county, mailing and convenience fees. The state charges a $28 'new plate' fee each time someone switches to a new plate, whether it is a specialty plate or standard plate. In addition, the state charges a $5 fee for "Specialty License Plate Processing Fees', each time you purchase or renew a specialty liense plate. In addition to the $33.00, the state and county charges $10.50 for various fees incorporated into the registration of a new tag, regardless of whether you are renewing your annual registration.
Once you have switched to your specialty plate, your additional costs for your annual renewal will be the user fee ($15-$25) for the charitable contribution, plus the $5 specialty license plate processing fee.

SWITCH TO A NEW SPECIALTY LICENSE PLATE OUTSIDE YOUR REGISTRATION RENEWAL PERIOD ('GOLD'): $79-$89.
SWITCH TO A NEW SPECIALTY PLATE AND RENEW YOUR ANNUAL VEHICLE REGISTRATION ('PLATINUM'), (including for a leased SUV, for an additional fee: 'Platinum SUV'): $150-$225.
You can also purchase a GIFT CERTIFICATE for someone special: $39-$225.
The price varies based on the cost of the 'annual use fee' that is set for the particular specialty tag by the state. The 'annual use fee' is the fee that goes directly to the organization responsible for the plate ($15 to $25) and is tax deductible.

PERSONALIZED/VANITY PLATES
*NOTE: New personalized characters for any specialty license plate can only be approved and obtained directly from DMV and cannot be ordered through this service. However, you can opt to use your existing personalization on your current tag, provided IT FITS THE NEWLY CHOSEN PLATE CONFIGURATION*. You must indicate in the redemption submission that you receive after you have made your order on PayPal that you want to keep your existing personalized characters on your new plate under "Additional Instructions", and you will be directed to a special page to add your order for the transfer of your existing personalized plate characters and to pay the additional fees. Note: It takes at least 45 days for the new plate to be manufactured by PRIDE, so you have to make sure your registration renewal is not due within that time period, if you are placing an order outside your annual registration renewal period and not renewing.
The state charges an additional fee of $15.00 per year, in addition to all the other annual taxes and fees, for personalized plates.

BIENNIAL FEES
At this time, we do not process biennial (2 year) registration renewals. If you are switching to a new specialty plate outside of your registration renewal and you previously renewed your tag for two years, and you are still in the first year of your biennial renewal, there is an additional charge made by the state to cover the second year fees for your chosen specialty plate. The state takes a fee of $5.00 ("Specialty License Plate Fee") and the sponsoring charity receives the additional $15-25 "User Fee", depending on which tag you choose. You will process your transaction and then you will subsequently receive an email to process the additional fee. You will then receive your new specialty plate with the same biennial expiration date on the registration decal as you have on your existing tag.

The cost of the Specialty License Plate Annual Use fee (which ranges according to the specific specialty plate from $15 to $25), plus state, county and tag agency fees for registering the tag, plus MyPlatesFL.com online convenience fee and credit card processing fee;
AND:
State New Plate Replacement fee ($28), State Specialty License Plate Processing fee ($5), State Recording Fees and taxes for new specialty plate (varies on recipient's date of renewal and county of registration) and replacement decal fees;
AND:
Online redemption transaction processing;
AND:
State Annual vehicle registration renewal fees and annual renewal sticker on new specialty license plate;
AND:
Delivery of new specialty license plate and replacement registration decal.
